OUR STORY

We have been delivering creative solutions since 1998 and over the years encountering various clients who came to us for design work but couldn’t articulate what they stood for or what they were really trying to achieve. We soon realised they needed more than design help, they needed a total brand realignment.

Once we decided to expand our services to include brand strategy as one of our core offerings paired with our creative services, we ran into so many schools of thought, conflicting theory, and outdated approaches. We realised that we needed to give our clients a simple solution, and that we would need to create it ourselves.

Once we started on this journey, we discovered that we didn’t know our own brand as well as we thought we did. The more we explored our clients’ brand problems, it became clear that we were struggling with many of the same issues. If we wanted to confidently guide our clients, we’d have to test it on ourselves first.

We disregarded everything we thought we stood for and bravely started from scratch. Thankfully, after tweaking and testing (first on ourselves, then with a few brave clients), we created a brand strategy plan coupled with our creative work that was simple, and adaptable. Was it easy? No, it involved many hours of research, consideration and development. Was it worth it? Oh yes!.

Willie Van Der Spuy
Founding Partner / Creative Director

Willie started his career in the creative industry back in 1998 designing logos for bands while he was enrolled at the Institute for Marketing Management. He moved to the UK in 2001 and got a job at a design studio in London’s St. James Park. Under the guidance of his employer and experienced colleges, who graciously took him under their wing, he went through a steep learning curve involving everything related to effective design and communication.

Once back in sunny SA, he decided to freelance and armed with the knowledge and experience he gained embarked on a entrepreneurial journey in the creative industry.

Over the years, his love for design grew into a love for brand. His passion for great creative execution and intolerance for mediocracy has defined his career.
